News about the pews - and more!
Exciting changes are happening in the church! Over the summer, we will be updating the sanctuary by replacing the pews with comfortable new chairs, completely redecorating, laying a new carpet and adding lighting and equipment to allow us to stream services. This upgrade has been possible partly thanks to an £8,000 grant from the Government’s Adapt and Thrive Fund.
The pews will be recycled by The Brock, a local social enterprise based in Broxburn which sets out to provide free opportunities to people with chronic mental health conditions. They plan to use the wood to make planters, which will be sold to raise funds for the charity. The church will also receive a couple of the planters and there will be new window shelves for the sanctuary.
We hope that all of the improvements will be completed by the end of August with a view to reopening the church for worship at the beginning of September. We'll keep you updated on progress.
'Our home church'
Thank you to 6 year old Isla from our Sunday Club who drew the fantastic picture of our church below. Isla called it 'our home church'. We think it's great!
