Our Minister - Rev. Dr. Jaco Boonzaaier
Rev. Dr. Jaco Boonzaaier was inducted to Broxburn Parish Church on 19th February 2015. Jaco originates from South Africa and came to Scotland in January 2014 working as Assistant Minister at St. Columba’s Church of Scotland in Stirling for a year. He is married to Moya and they have two daughters Simone and Monique.
Jaco spent 18 years as a minister with the Dutch Reformed Church in Nambia and South Africa. He holds a BA from Potchefstroom University in South Africa, a BD from the University of Pretoria and an MDiv. Masters’ degree covering the ethics and theology of the New Testament.
Prior to entering the ministry Jaco worked as a cashier in a bank, in I.T. product development, as a Senior Project Manager and as Operations Manager and Senior Logistic Planner. Some of the companies he has worked for include Trust Bank, Tepco Petroleum, Shell Oil Products and the Nambia Broadcasting Company as a freelance radio presenter.
He is also a trained Toastter and accredited presenter of the Myers Briggs Temperement Index. Among his many interests and hobbies are cycling, golf, photography and woodworking.
